The future of an iconic hot dog stand in Chicago is now question after the property was put up for sale.
After more than 35 years of witty banter, a loyal fan base and Chicago-style hot dogs, the site that holds Chicago’s Wiener’s Circle has joined a neighboring mixed-used building on the market for $7.5 million.
“They’ve been here a long time and how do you take that out of the community?” said customer Christy Witt. “They have roots here.”
The answer? You don’t, management said.
“Wiener’s Circle is going nowhere,” said longtime manager Evelyn Morris, adding that the famed hot dog stand is “open for business.”
The Wiener’s Circle has called the intersection of Clark Street and Wrightwood Avenue in Lincoln Park home for generations.
Known for its snarky comments and graphic language, the famed eatery is the one place where the customer isn’t always right.

“Not at the Wiener’s Circle,” Morris said.
The notorious hot dog stand has been making headlines in recent months for its commentary on President Donald Trump.
Most recently, the marquee outside the building read, “TINY HANDS, TINY WIENER, TINY HEART, FREE THE KIDS.”
But could the sign outside the building soon read, “For sale?”
It appears fans will have to wait and see.
