At Least 5 Wounded in Shootings Across Chicago

At least five people have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago on Saturday.

Just after 2 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Kimble, two people were shot as they were driving northbound on the street.

According to police, a 29-year-old man was shot multiple times in the back and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. Another victim, a 57-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital, but was listed in good condition.

Here are the rest of the area’s shootings on Saturday:

  • A 26-year-old man was inside a vehicle just before 2 a.m. in the 8700 block of South State Street when a person on foot opened fire, striking him in both legs. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition.
  • In the 5300 block of North Magnet, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the arm and chest by a person in a sedan, according to police. The boy, who was shot just before 1 p.m., was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
  • In the 5200 block of West Harrison at approximately 3:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the lower left leg. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
