Ride-share app Lyft is offering free rides to warming centers in Chicago as the city faces down a historic freeze.
The deal is good until midnight Friday and can be used with the code CHIJAYDEN19.
“In response to the polar vortex caused by Winter Storm Jayden impacting parts of the Midwest, Lyft is committed to doing our part to help those in need,” the company said in a blog post. “We’re activating our Relief Rides program to help those in need move around to warming centers in impacted areas, including Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Madison, Milwaukee and Detroit.”
The free ride code is good for up to two rides up to $25.
The impending bitter blast has already closed schools and businesses, forced modified transit schedules, and prompted a disaster proclamation in the state.
