While Dorothy Brown is no longer on the ballot in the race to become mayor of Chicago, she does plan to continue campaigning for another candidate.
Brown was removed from the ballot after she did not produce enough valid signatures for inclusion, but she has remained busy in the race, as she has met or spoken with several candidates who are interested in wooing her supporters to their campaigns.
According to NBC 5, Susana Mendoza, Garry McCarthy, Paul Vallas, Willie Wilson, and LaShawn Ford have all met or spoken with Brown in the days since she was removed from the ballot.
In a recent poll, Brown received 4.7 percent of the vote, a significant chunk of an electorate that is hugely split between a dozen candidates.

“I will be endorsing a candidate in this race, and I’m calling on you to support that candidate,” Brown had said.
One candidate that definitely won’t receive Brown’s endorsement is Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, whose challenge to Brown’s petitions led to her removal from the ballot.

A spokesman for the Dorothy Brown Coalition told NBC 5 that Brown’s endorsement will matter because “the base is angry, getting organized, and will wait for Dorothy’s lead, and will vote for that candidate.”
For his part, Wilson’s campaign says that he has not met with Brown since she was removed from the ballot, but several candidates believe he stands to gain the most from her ouster from the race.
