Iconic Chicago-set thriller "Devil in the White City" is getting the TV streaming treatment.
Hulu and Paramount Television are developing an adaptation of Erik Larson’s best-selling book, Hulu’s senior vice president of originals announced onstage at the Television Critics Association Press Tour this week.
The nonfiction book about the architects of Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair and the serial killer who used it as a setting for his murders, H. H. Holmes, was published in 2003 and has long been a hot property in Hollywood.
Larson also confirmed the news on Twitter writing "News, from the front."
Paramount Pictures had previously confirmed it optioned the best-seller with plans for Martin Scorsese to direct a film and Leonardo DiCaprio to star in. The screenplay was also set to be adapted by Billy Ray, who scripted "Captain Phillips" and "The Hunger Games."
It remains unclear if DiCaprio's on-camera role in the film will change now that it is becoming a series.
